In my humble opinion, this is the way to go. I would effectively get rid of all taxes but the tax that would be paid for buying things. The IRS would simply disappear, and that would be one big expense on the government that would disappear...and the governement would run smoother cause it would still get the money it needs to run. You would get your whole paycheck....not a part of it after the government takes it share.....and the only place you would pay a tax is when you buy something. Wouldn't that be preferrable to paying a tax on everything you do?
